Selected Achievements

Negotiated and structured a LBO to acquire majority owners' share of the company. Identified, developed and negotiated mezzanine financing with a local bank to complete the transaction. Also reviewed and selected new information technology infrastructure and administered the implementation of the infrastructure. In addition, reviewed and selected new employee benefit providers as well as liability and D&O insurance for the new company.

Developed and implemented a structure to successfully place over $67 million in tax exempt bonds to provide infrastructure for a community. Developed and presented financial structures to bond purchasers. Negotiated and closed the loans. Without this program, the vast majority of these costs would have been borne by the Company.

Led teams that performed audits and developed consolidation processes for 30+ residential and commercial partnerships in conjunction with an initial SEC registration of a publicly traded Master Limited Partnership. As a result, the client was able to reduce operating costs through consolidated reporting (financial and tax) as well as reduce its borrowing costs through raising capital and grouped assets.

Analyzed structure of partnership and determined that opportunities for tax restructuring existed. Conducted research with legal counsel. Developed and executed a plan to eliminate a negative state tax consequence for the partners. Eliminated annual state tax issue ($560 - 770K annually) and generated approximately $50 million in long term capital losses for the partners to utilize.

Developed streamlined consolidated regional financial reporting processes. Working with the corporate office we were able to identify areas where we could provide them consolidated regional information without losing required details. I led the regional team in developing and implementing a regional consolidation process that was less manually intensive and allowed us to reduce the number of reporting packages from 35 to 7.The time required to complete and review the quarterly reports was significantly reduced.

Developed and implemented processes for managing outside 3rd party assets. The Company reporting systems were not oriented to the monthly reporting required under the management agreement. Processes and systems were identified, developed and implemented. We were able to meet the reporting requirements of the management agreements in a timely and efficient manner.
