A hands-on leader and innovator, I have improved productivity, reduced costs, increased profitability and maximized customer satisfaction for employers and clients in manufacturing, printing and healthcare industries. SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Instituted Lean processes for healthcare client, saving $16M. Tolt client, Metro Health Hospital, wanted to reduce costs at least $1M. Evaluated existing programs and surveyed upper management as to their needs. Developed and implemented Lean processes to reduce waste for 100 projects. Designed and delivered training for 85 groups totaling 422 people. Conducted train-the-trainer sessions for 32 employees on Lean.

Directed cost-saving dual-plant consolidation. Steelcase plants totaling 1.5 million sq. ft. were underperforming. Determined need to consolidate plants into $1M sq. ft. facility. Structured and led team. Consolidated plants in six months using Lean processes. Improved profit margin 293% to highest of any plant in company.

Upgraded plant performance, reducing costs nearly 50%. Steelcase plant had major quality, productivity and delivery issues. Heightened employee awareness of problems. Utilized fun reminders to incent employees to fix them. Achieved 440 days of flawless deliveries and 802 days of perfect quality. Improved profits 42%.

Incentivized cost-saving sales, skyrocketing profitability. Haughton had very low profit of $47,000 on sales of $600M. Determined price-driven sales commissions to be primary contributor. Revised sales compensation to be profit-based. Reduced revenues first year to $500M but made $25M profit. Increased commissions 13%.

Made safety personal, reversing plant community standing. Steelcase safety numbers were twice as high as Ontario average. Set up safety committee. Reported results publicly. Reduced accidents to 50% below Ontario average. Went entire second year without reportable accident. Won industry award.

Managing Director, Tolt Consulting LLC, 2002 to Present. Provide consulting on lean practices for health care, hospitals, manufacturing and small firms. Clients included Metro Health Hospital, GM and Quantum Services.

Steelcase, Inc., $4B global office furniture leader.

Director Learning and Development, 2000 to 2002. Managed staff who designed training programs as determined by needs analysis. Instructed 40-week management program. Helped design Corporate University.

Plant Manager, Seating and Panel Divisions, 1994 to 2000. Complete responsibility for product introduction, quality, manufacture, engineering, inventory, human resources, budgets, maintenance, tooling, etc., for two plants. Managed budget to $650M and staff to 2200.
