2011 Independent Study Teacher (temporary) for Orange County Department of Education, Alternative Education
• Participated in a massive innovative summer program as an Independent Study Teacher for at-risk students in Orange County. Worked with a team of teachers auditing files. A very rewarding and precedent-setting summer program to help students not only retrieve credits, but to be held accountable for learning the material.
2008-2010
4th and 5th grade GATE Teacher and High School Home Hospital Teacher and Independent Study for Southern Kern Unified School District, Alternative Education
• Determined Individual and assessed assignments for 2nd and 5th grade students and high school students.
• Researched, developed and carried out a series of lessons for fieldtrips
o UCLA Sculpture Gardens
Students learned the casting and release methods, terminology and artists for relief and freestanding sculptures
o Ronald Regan Library and museum.
Students learned the different roles of government and military officials by role playing for decision made during the war in Grenada.
• Taught (and mentored) an 18 year old Special Education student one on one. Solved her visual challenge and helped her learn to read and do basic math.
2008-2009

• Taught 7th through 12th grade students who came to this school below grade level, but were able to improve their scores and pass the CAHSEE.
2006-2008 Opportunity Teacher for SKUSD
• Organized multiple grade level curriculum using state approved textbooks
• Used Multiple Intelligence Survey to help student/parent/teacher know what style of learning is best or least liked by the student
• Applied professional growth training from SKUSD a systematic behavior documentation to identify problematic triggers and modify lessons to targeted behaviors
• Created a system where students/parents/teacher can keep track of the amount of Social Studies and Science assignments that were completed or need to be completed for multiple grade levels.
• Developed a method for teaching multiple grade level standards for English and Math
• Compiled a classroom library and book check out system with forms to write monthly book reports
• Taught students how to copiously edit their drafts and properly use Microsoft Word to type their final reports
• Inspired the 7th graders to take the State PE testing seriously
• Offered math tutoring after school one day a week resulting in 95% of students who took the cumulative final passed

• Motivated them to change their behaviors as many of them have been abused or use, abuse or deal drugs, 30% of them read below 4th grade level.
• Used creative, routine and security techniques to teach and maintain a safe environment
