 Supported the quotation process, and developed the program budget/plan.

 Served as the primary interface to the Customer (OEM and Tier 1’s) for all technical and program issue resolution.

 Supported all customer product development meetings, providing technical leadership.

 Translated the customer’s product and program requirements into achievable program plans.

 Managed kickoff activities with tooling, equipment, and material suppliers.

 Worked with design group/designers to update data with Lear directed engineering changes based on initial prototyping evaluation.

 Communicated/managed prototype tooling changes with tooling source to evaluate feasibility, run tooling, and modify parts based on Lear engineering direction.

 Supported prototype tooling runs/evaluations.

 Supported Lear engineering at build activities.

 Worked with quality group in creating prototype documentation to support build events.

PLASTICS ENGINEER - LIGON BROTHERS MANUFACTURING CO., Almont, MI. June 1995 – March 2004

 Became sole engineer managing plastics launches; handling 20-30 programs simultaneously, each in different stages.

 Performed cost estimating for 500+ plastic product proposals which included obtaining and negotiating material, tooling, and equipment cost and timing from vendors and suppliers.

 Assisted the Sales group in new product development activities involving meeting with customer personnel, determining and negotiating program requirements, quote preparation, and ensuring product manufacturability.

 Developed program questionnaire for sales group used in quote process involving product specific questions, which identified and eliminated issues when program went to launch.

 Created product specific quote program templates that equated to quicker quote turnaround.

 Created new program kickoff/launch form, which standardized necessary launch information, reduced launch meeting duration, eliminated unnecessary and repetitive communication, and reduced follow-up meetings.

 Led and coordinated development of product prints with GD&T, performance, and material specifications.

 Learned and trained others on CMS-AS400 database system to be able to input part specific Bill of Materials and Routing information so that it was available to the Accounting, Materials, Scheduling, and Manufacturing departments at time of kickoff, which eliminated unnecessary and repetitive communication.

 Provided on-going process engineering assistance and launch support to the manufacturing function.

 Performed process improvement experiments, DOE analyses, aided in performing 8-D analyses and resolving product quality issues.
