As Area Manager I oversaw several projects and managed a staff of 17 people, including Project Managers and Superintendents. KBA (Bellevue, WA) — Construction Manager, 4/02 to 6/04

As Construction Manager on a large scale master-planned community I was responsible for management of more than 150 acres of logging and land clearing in preparation for site development. Built 120,000-square-foot-high technology facility from preconstruction through closeout. Managed submittals, RFIs, change orders, and contract documents using Prolog database. Developed scope of work, selected contractors, and executed contracts. (Budget $9M).

KIEWIT PACIFIC (Sacramento, CA) — Project Engineer, Summer 1999

Estimated and organized progress reports for $6 million underground utilities project. Calculated daily cost estimates. Reduced safety hazards through regular inspections and meetings. Improved crew production as a result of method analysis. (Budget $6M).

HIGNELL & HIGNELL (Chico, CA) — Property Manager, 09/97 to 04/00 Successfully managed more than 130 apartments with monthly revenues up to $75,000. Improved resident relations. Reduced yearly maintenance costs by properly screening and inspecting.

TITAN CONSTRUCTION (Renton, WA) — Field Engineer, Summers 1995 - 1997

Project Highlights

— Railroad at MOTSU, Sunny Point, NC. The project was sole-sourced to Bristol Construction. Project-wide, we are removing and reinstalling 78,000 track-feet. The track sub-grade is completely re¬shaped to accommodate larger radius track, and a complete new railway is being installed, including ballast material, ties, rail, plates, bolts and switches. Project Value $30M

— Replace failing 36” sewer main Fort Lewis, WA. This was a design-build project in which Bristol self performed both design and construction. Installed 6000 LF of 36” sewer line. Depth of pipe was as deep as 30’ below grade in some places. The project also included the replacement of 21 other manholes throughout Fort Lewis that were taking on groundwater and the installation of a dewatering facility at the sewer treatment plant. Project Value $5M

— Gray Army Airfield Apron expansion project. The project consisted of the design and construction of a 10-acre, concrete, helicopter apron that included a subsurface drainage system, storm-water collection system, taxiway lights, and aircraft anchor points. The project was designed and constructed in less than 150 calendar days. Project value $5.5M.

— Snoqualmie Ridge, a master-planned community in Snoqualmie, Washington, comprised of 1,344-acre community of 2,000 houses. This scope included new roadways; parks; storm-water systems; water treatment plant and supply; concrete reservoirs; wastewater plant; an 18-hole, Jack Nicklaus designed golf course, clubhouse, and banquet facility; police station, irrigation systems, sewer lift stations, and related facilities. Project Value $150M.

— Barracks 3121-3124. The project included complete renovation. The gang latrines and the NCO bathrooms received new ceramic tile, fixtures, partitions, doors and toilet accessories. Abatement of lead and asbestos required. All finishes in the common areas were renovated, including new VCT and stair tread, painting, ceiling tile, and lighting. Project value $3.1 M

— Renovate Buildings 4174/2493 project. The project included the reconfiguration of basement and floor interior plans; providing new interior finishes on walls, floors, and ceilings; remodeling of existing restrooms; abating Asbestos-Containing floor tile, sheet vinyl in kitchens, and rubber base cove; and providing additional restrooms; new gutters and downspouts, low-pressure wash exterior masonry and concrete surfaces, and numerous other features of work. $3M

— Madigan Army Hospital Dining and Kitchen Renovation project. Installed new walk-in freezer door. Installed new storefront system for new exit from the dining facility. Provided and installed new Stainless steel kitchen equipment. Project value $300K.

— Solar-wall project. The project consisted of the installation of transpired air collectors (solar walls) on a 250,000-square-foot wheeled-vehicle maintenance facility. Details included mounting solar wall on an elevation above the top of the window line; relocating and/or modifying exterior wall obstacles; providing roof flashing and patching, new mechanical rooftop air handling units, and routing new gas lines, along with additional work features. Project value $700K

— Advance Tactical Training Area Savannah River Site Aiken, South Carolina. The Heavy Civil project included construction of a new multi-purpose, live-fire training range. Two bermed ranges, 300 meters and 400 meters long were constructed. Each range is accessed using a new gravel serpentine road. The 300-meter range is used to support vehicle-mounted live-fire training. The 400-meter range is segregated by interior separation berms into a 250-meter range, to be used to support vehicle-mounted live-fire training, and a 150-meter, high-explosive range, to be used to support grenade training. The 150-meter, high explosive-range is further separated by an interior berm to provide two training lanes. Each of the training lanes is equipped with concrete structures to support the training. Project Value $3.6M.

— Construct Electronic Firing Range 39. The project consisted of demolition of existing control tower, latrine, and almost 100 targets. Performed installation of a new structural steel control tower complete with air conditioned control room, latrine, and installation of almost 100 electronic targets controlled by computer program. Mid stream in the project, UXO was discovered, surveyed, and disposed of with Bristol UXO specialists. Project Value $940K.

— Divide Range 29 and 32 projects. The project included the demolition of existing structures and the renovation of an existing rifle range in which an 8-foot-high wall was constructed to divide one range into two with the additional construction of observation platforms, ammunition shelters, latrines, and grandstand. Project value $2.5M

— Range 25 Two-Story Shoot House. This was a two-story concrete masonry unit shoot house with ballistic wall system designed for live fire. AR 500 steel and 2” rubber panels were installed on all interior surfaces. The facility was outfitted with two roof hatches to accommodate aerial attacks.
