Experience
My career in welding began as an Ironworker in 1973 and has included experience in virtually all contemporary manual and semiautomatic processes. I have held a number of positions as weldor or weldor/fitter over approximately 25 years. My work has been chiefly oil industry related: including gas and oil process equipment, both offshore and on, subsea equipment, wellheads, risers, and tubulars.
I began work for Radoil, Inc. in 1999 for the first time, that was followed by re-employment in 2002 and a recall in 2003 for a period that subsequently lasted until March 2010.
In 2005, Radoil Inc., had me review their then current welding procedures. Over the course of several months I reviewed, decided what could be retained, needed to discarded and replaced with new procedures. I then qualified a number of procedures in collaboration with James Strickler at WH Labs. In late 2006 I was moved to the QA/QC department as the welding inspector. In 2008 I obtained certification as an AWS CWI. Although my primary job was as welding inspector, I also received bolts and material, and was the chief inspector of coatings, as well as helping with dimensioning machined parts on occasion.
Currently, I serve as the primary contract backup CWI for WH Laboratories, the scope of duties including any CWI functions that the on staff CWI, James Strickler, is unable to address.
