Remodeling old homes. Working with my hands on wood. I've remodeled 8 homes, build 3 pole barns, 12 decks, a 3000sg ft log cabin that I designed and built completely. I've built furniture like beds, entertainment centers, hutches, shelves, and kitchen cabinets.

2011 to 2012, Shop foreman, Second shift Foreman in a 85,000 sg ft. structural steel, plate , blast, and sophistocated paint shop. Supervising over 50 employees. Specializing in conveyors, hopper, dams, and rolled structures weighting sometimes over 25'wide and 115,000 pounds each..Tie in with day shift Supervisors, Foreman, and Project Managers for any schedule changes, work in process and any needs or issues on shift. Plan critical needs for the shift, assign Leadmen manpower to work needing to be done. Review drawing for fabrication for any issues or concerns involving fabrication. Log in "for construction drawings" released for fabrication, keep drawing log updated, make ID tags for finished materials. Review timecards, report employee attendance, and vacations, update Fabtrol reports for pcs fabricated complete. Insured workers are meeting Quality control standards, and all items are assemblied complete after painting. Oversee loading of trucks for any retrictions, and correct materials are loaded.

2007 to 2010, SHOP SUPERINTENDENT, Controlled two 50,000 sq.ft bldgs., One for steel fabrication and the other for blast and paint. Over 20 million dollars in sales a year. Supervised 94 employees with three foremen. Worked daily with General Manager on scheduling, over time, and production issues. Worked with four Project Managers on prior job schedules and drawing issues. Worked with two purchasing agents on purchasing materials and supplies. Worked closely with Human Resources on man power needs, training, and safety.

Reviewed all drawings going out for approval for workability and special requirements, Set flow of material to three CNC machines, two saws, wheelabrator, hand blast and three paint rooms. Organized man power to be the most efficient to save man hours

Quoted and Scheduled outside Fabricators work load into blast and paint.

Scheduled deliveries trucks and trailers for shipping to job sites or for barges going to Alaska or Hawaii.

1975, MACHINE OPERATOR: Operated Marvel band saw, Whitney punches,

Pennington computer controlled angle shear, Geka ironworker Buffalo press,

Bug o line burner, mag drills, Houghin drills, fork truck, and over head cranes.

Certified stick, mig, and flux core welder. Drove 10,000# trucks to 48’ tractor

Trailer.

1977, LAYOUT and FITTER: Fabricated beams per blue prints. Assigned four

other employees under me to complete structural jobs from start to finish.

kept schedules, and performed time studies.

1979, GROUP LEADER, Handled large structural steel, stairs, handrails,

overhead / underhung / jib crane fabrication, and trusses. Involved in

time management, production scheduling, job meetings, and Quality Control.

1981, SHOP FOREMAN, Supervised two group leaders and 12 to 15 men.

Responsible for shipping and receiving, inventory, templates for detail,

assigning work. Working with the ironworkers scheduling deliveries and

sequencing finished materials to the field.

1986, SHOP SUPERVISOR, Supervised over two shifts (21 men), scheduling, materials, ordering supplies and new equipment, planning shop

expansions, employee hiring and discipline. Developed new time studies to meet

the needs of the new equipment

1994, PLANT OPERATIONS

Purchasing steel and supplies. Conducted annual meetings with all employees,

going over health benefits, job projections, and any other pertinent business.

Conducted weekly meetings with other partners to discuss costs, scheduling, and

new projects.

1994, ESTIMATOR, Put quotes together to submit to General Contractors for

various projects, including structural steel, stairs, rails, joist, deck, concrete

anchors, detailing, and erection. Worked with General Contractors and owners

on scheduling, cost saving, and design changes. Attended weekly job meetings,

followed up on punch lists at the end of the project.
