Description:
The project objective is to provide Development, Maintenance and enhancements to the Data Warehouse ‘The W’ of CK&DS division of Bank of America. The warehouse, The W, is a mainframe-based database, which is designed to handle Bank of America’s Customer Knowledge & Decision Support activities. The main objective of the Warehouse is to help the bank in decision & strategy making process.
Data warehousing is a foundational practice that supports enterprise reporting, business intelligence and decision support. Data warehouses and data marts are created across levels of sophistication and different philosophical approaches, but typically involve extracting and transforming data from operational or transactional databases and loading it to a repository for shared use and analysis.
The project involves development and support of the legacy data loads to the Bank’s data warehouse aka ‘The W”. The W is built on Teradata database with 640 TB of disk space. It receives data feed from all the operational systems across the bank.

Description:
AVIVA is one of the largest insurance companies in the United Kingdom. Financial Application System is a HUB which maintains applications such as Automated Banking and Cashbook Update system (ABACUS), Bankers Automated Clearing system (BACS), Check Production, Debit/Credit card systems, Payment Preparation, Aviva Payroll etc.
The project involves providing BAU support and Application Development and Maintenance activities related to the above applications.
The system is highly critical in terms of business as it deals with the flow of cash in and out of business units. Finance data currently is scattered onto many systems causing synchronization issues. Single insurance platform is being establish to migrate all the finance data onto a common single database. It is a ongoing project for 3 years duration started from Mar2008.

HUON 4.11a is a Package supplied by TIG (The Innovation Group) Company. This package is used mainly in property and causality insurance and financial services industries. The transactions Quote creation, New business, Endorsement, Renewals, Cancellation, Re-Instatement and Schedule print are the part of the Policy underwriting system. Claims activities are from creation to Commit payment (close of claim) can be performed through claim Management system.
The project involves Support, Maintenance and Enhancement of HUON system. The support activity involves data migration, analysis of corrupted data, and correction of the corrupted data and fixing of production related issues. Enhancement activities include requirement analysis, coding, testing and implementation of requirements to the satisfaction of the client.
