Job Responsibilities

Donor room proceedings such as donor selection, donor selection, donor registration, physical and medical checkup, collection of blood and management of donor reactions.

Separation of blood in to it’s different components such as packed red cells, PRP, FFP, platelet concentrate, Cryo ppt, Single donor platelet, Buffy coat, washed red cells etc.

Handling and quality control of fully automated IH 1000 machine.

Storage and issuing of blood and components.

Quality control and standardization procedures of different blood components and reagents.

Preparation and storage of irradiated blood components.

Neonatal transfusion practices in different clinical situations.

Serological testing of HIV, HBsAg, HCV and Syphilis by manual and with automated immune analyzers such as ABOTT-AXSYM, BIORAD-CODA, ORTHODIAGNOSTICS-VITROS Eci etc.

Blood grouping, cross matching procedures, direct and indirect Coomb’s testing, adsorption and elution studies, management and investigation of transfusion reactions and antibody titration studies.

General safety measures, management and disposal of chemical pathogenic and radioactive waste and cleaning of glass wares.

Computerized documentation and auditing of records.
