PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
GENERAL DYNAMICS, Marion, VA 2002-2010
Process Engineer
Analyzed and improved systems and processes. Designed instrumentation and electrical/pneumatic controls to meet production specifications and client contract requirements. Wrote and implemented C code in critical production line environment. Maintained ASC Autoclave, National Instruments, Watlow, and Omega data acquisition software/hardware. Performed PID loop tuning, temperature/pressure control testing, and commissioning. Provided computer software and hardware integration, system design, and process control system maintenance for 1,000,000+ square foot composites process facility. Prepared equipment operation procedures, work instructions and process specifications relating to calibration, certification and operation of various facilities related equipment.
• Charged with implementation and managed start up of Total Productive Maintenance program.
•Completed Arena simulation models for two new process lines that included Army Standard Family (ASF) shelters and new Armor facility plan for next generation of Humvee.
• Selected, due to demonstrated leadership skills, to lead F-22 structures improvement initiative that upgraded data acquisition and controls for processing ovens and high capacity autoclaves.
• Recognized by Senior Management for integral role as member of Facilities Design Team charged with start-up of Controlled Atmospheric Pressure Resin Infusion (CAPRI) and Stitched Resin Infusion (SRI) production line to support C-17 landing gear door. Received the GDATP Presidential award for accomplishing this project.
• Increased client satisfaction and reduced nonconformance report rate from 80% to 10% within four months and to 3% in six months while supporting F-22 and F-18 RTM production line. Turned around underachieving control system that had no quality control through replacing outdated hardware/software, debugging code, and increasing parts flow.
• Designed and commissioned 8,000 gallon per week wastewater treatment system for plating.
INVENSYS, Cape Canaveral, FL 2001-2002
Instrument and Controls Technician
Maintained, conducted troubleshooting, and calibrated HVAC and electrical power system controls for Atlas-V launch vehicle and related facilities. Provided control systems for HVAC systems including Triconex PLC system and various temperature, pressure, pressure differential, relative humidity, and dew point sensors and transmitters, pressure control valves, current-to-pressure transducers, and pressure controllers.
• Launched Complex 41, Cape Canaveral, Lockheed-Martin Atlas-V project. Supported startup and commission for all HVAC-relevant equipment.
JOHNSON CONTROLS AT CIRENT SEMICONDUCTOR, Orlando, FL 1998-2001
HVAC Supervisor
Provided oversight for control room operations for multimillion dollar microchip fabrication facility that used Foxboro and Barber Coleman industrial control systems software. Trained and managed crew of eight HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, and powerhouse technicians. Ensured maintenance of manufacturing clean rooms with chilled water-cooled air handlers over 50,000 cfm per unit, air recirculators, clean steam generators, and Neslab water chillers. Responsibilities included the changing out of pumps and motors, from low voltage, to high voltage multiphase.
• Recognized by Senior Management for achieving minimal downtime through fast call response rate.
RIVER RANCH FRESH FOODS, Orlando, FL 1997-1998
Maintenance Technician/Refrigeration Specialist
Provided refrigeration maintenance of 500,000 cubic feet production room and warehouse. Maintained water chiller from 10 to 60 tons in capacity, food processing machines, and form-fill machines.
