Title: Automation of Esp Rapping Motor Using Real Time Clock Annunciation, Nyveli Lignite Ltd.

Description: Neyveli Lignite Corporation is ASIA’S LARGEST LIGNITE FIRED PLANT. NLC has three mines and three thermal power stations. The power generation capacity of TPS-1 is 600mw; TPS-2 is 1470mw and TPS-1 expansion having a capacity of 420mw.

At present, NLC adopts manual operation to remove ash deposits in the ESP .We have decided to design and develop an ‘Embedded Based System’ to meet out the requirements and also to provide the status of the ESP Control Room to the Unit Control Room, which is located at 13.5miles, as a remote annunciation system using ‘RS485’.

In this project an embedded based prototype has been designed to monitor and operate the ESP rapping motor using RS485. This provide more reliability when compared to the existing system.
