Selected Research Experience:
1. Mechanical Characterization of pH-sensitive Nano/Micro-patterned Hydrogel
Designed and fabricated Nano/Micro-patterned hydrogel using stamping methods.
Developed and characterized hydrogel patterns in different pH value buffer solutions.
Evaluated the mechanical properties of pH-sensitive hydrogel patterns using lab-designed liquid station.
2. Fabrication of novel nanostructured Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) patterns
Designed and fabricated different geometries silicon pattern mould by Photolithography.
Mingled PDMS precursor and cured precursor on silicon mould.
Created nanostructured PDMS patterns by reactive ion etching.
3. Preferential colonization of colloidal particles on micro-pattern surfaces: application to biofouling control
Designed and fabricated different geometries silicon pattern via varying pillar size and spacing.
Collaborated with environmental engineering department to quantify the particles distributions on pattern surfaces.
Portrayed the adhesion force mapping between particles and micro-pattern surfaces via atomic force microscopy.
4. In situ scanning electron microscopy (SEM) evaluation of mechanical properties of single carbon nanofibers
Manipulated individual carbon nanofibers onto lab designed device (US patent 201********).
Tested and compared the mechanical properties of 4 different carbon nanofibers using nanoindenter (one of the three available commercial testing equipments in the world).
Identify the best of carbon nanofibers to make nanofiber/polymer composite applied in structural materials.

Designed, optimized, and built up a tungsten indenter head to compatible with a commercial TriboIndenter system.
Investigated the imprinting behavior of tungsten indenter head on single crystal gold substrate.
