In 2004, I assisted Sundown Ranch in winning the Earnest Codman award given by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations for my work on adolescent anger and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. I traveled to New York on two separate occasions to study under Dr. Ellis at the Institute for Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy.

I am the author of “Unlocking the Mind of an Addict” and I have published articles in Recovery Today. I am a distinguished lecturer, consultant and workshop leader and my speaking venues include the American Psychological Association, Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Texas Behavioral Health Institute, S.A.V.E Ministry (sexual abuse) and the Texas Department of State Health Services.

I have been a guest speaker on several Blog radio shows and “Recovery Coast to Coast” with Neil Scott.

In 2010 and 2011 Rational Reflections along with other organizations was given the Dallas Mayor's Proclamation award sponsored by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for increasing community awareness for chemical dependency. Rational Reflections created “Stride-for-Recovery” in support of Recovery Month which is sponsored by the federal government.

I recently created an iphone and iPod application called AVERT (Addictive Voice Emergency Reality Training) It is a substance abuse craving reduction techniques that combines Thought Stopping, Addictive Voice Recognition Training, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Imagery and Cost Benefit Analysis.
