Project Management -

As a project engineer, I was accountable for the overall engineering process in support of assigned projects from inception through project closeout. These responsibilities included:

1. All aspects of technical oversight including client interface, work scope definition, design engineering, material procurement, field implementation, and final documentation/drawing as-built,

2. Minor and major modification and/or new construction and installation of the equipment and facilities as well as major repair and/or replacement activities,

3. Delivery of adequate and fit-for-purpose engineering design, resolution of any technical issues arising during field implementation, and completion of appropriate project documentation,

4. Ensuring that engineered designs comply with design basis, applicable codes, standards, and specifications requirements,

5. Technical liaison to the Project Manager for all engineering functions including engineering design, field implementation, and turnover/closeout. This includes ensuring engineering services are delivered in a timely manner to meet project requirements.

6. Develop and manage work scope for the engineering contractors; monitors schedule, budget, and quality per project objectives.

7. Be primary interface with the client group for technical matters including initial work scope development, intermediate reviews of engineering design packages, field implementation, and project turnover/closeout. Possessing working knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Hydraulics, Pneumatic, Instrument Control Automation, Ac/Dc Power Generation, Transmission/Distribution, Quality Control, and project management the following undertakings had been supported:

1. Performed engineering analysis, calculations and safety evaluations to implement migration of analog and pneumatic control systems to Digital Control Systems – SCADA, HMI, Supervisory Computer System, RTUs, PLCs and Communication Systems.

2. Prepared/verified conceptual design modification packages; performed design calculations in support of modification packages; developed detailed equipment specification for major equipment; interfaced with vendors on procurement of major equipment.

3. Reviewed and approved design of substations and power systems automation via control devices using data from intelligent electronic devices (IED) to control power system strategies.
