Dear Colleague:
I am recommending John Poswalk for employment with your organization.
John has been an adjunct assistant professor of undergraduate Business Communications courses for the past three years. He has been successful in bringing the business world directly into the classroom through his experiences from his sales position with The Wall Street Journal. John has the ability to blend a variety of business related topics/issues into logical and practical application for student comprehension.
He has demonstrated fine teaching qualities and a strong command of subject matter content. In addition to his content expertise, he possesses a strong sense of fairness as he handles students with diverse communication abilities. John makes himself available to students beyond the required office hours, as he wants to help the student do the best he/she can do. The students think highly of him; his student evaluations are above the faculty average.
John has taught the required two-course Communication sequence. Both are business communications courses that require research and writing, critical thinking, problem solving, and oral presentations. He approaches his work with enthusiasm and seemingly inexhaustible energy. He is always prepared, often taking time to incorporate additional teaching aids to clarify the materials being discussed. Students appreciate that he returns assignments in a timely fashion.
The management at your organization would find John to be a welcome and valuable colleague. If you have any further questions, please contact me at 248-***-**** or by
email at *******@************.***.

Dear Colleague:
It is my pleasure to recommend John Poswalk for employment at your organization.
I met John three years ago when I interviewed him for an adjunct communications instructor position. He has taught for us every semester since then. He has done an excellent job in the classroom conveying information that is both informative and practical. I know that we can always count on him to do an excellent job. He is well liked and respected by both his students and colleagues.
More recently I have had the opportunity to work with John through his position with The Wall Street Journal. He has helped many of the instructors incorporate The Wall Street Journal into their classroom lectures and projects. He has done far more to help us than I had expected. One example is the many hours he spent working with our online department recording extensive instructions for using content from The Wall Street Journal in online finance courses. He has also been willing to provide instruction in the classroom as well. It has truly been a pleasure working with John.
I believe that John is uniquely qualified for a diverse range of management and teaching positions. John has had the opportunity to informally provide guidance to our business students while teaching his courses. His combination of business and academic experience, commitment, and dedication will certainly make him a valuable member of your organization.
If you have any further questions, please contact me at 248-***-**** or ********@************.***.

Dear Colleague:
I am writing a letter of recommendation for Mr. John Poswalk.
I have worked with John for a number of years as we have taught courses together at the Novi campus of Walsh College. During this time, I have had the opportunity to observe his teaching and communication skills with students.
He has very strong communication and interpersonal skills dealing with people of all ages. He is very motivating to his students and they request his sections repeatedly. In fact, his sections are always the first ones to fill. Students who take the first course in the sequence from him always clamor to take him again the next semester for the next course in the sequence.
I have gotten to know John on a personal level as well. He is extremely effective at his job at The Wall Street Journal and represents them well. He has been a motivating force for me when I went through major surgery last semester, cheering me on through my recovery process. He was always there to lend a helping hand.
I find that John possesses strong organizational skills, juggling two jobs at the same time and he is very charismatic. He is well respected by both students and colleagues alike. He is a self-starter, never waiting to take directions from someone, always knowing what needs to be done and when.
John is a quick learner and fit in well into the academic environment right from the start.
He always encourages people to do their best and motivates people to strive to their highest academic ability.
It is my pleasure and honor to recommend Mr. John Poswalk for the position for which he is applying.
Kind regards,
Dr. Marla G. Scafe
