An international specialty chemical group with over 100 companies worldwide and over 22 thousand employees. Annual revenue exceeds $7.5 billion.
MATERIALS/PRICING MANAGER (2004 – 2012)
Managed a $20 million manufacturing business with P&L responsibilities up to $2 million including logistics operations, fleet management (300 railcars), and an outside inventory stocking location comprised of six warehouses, three rail terminals and two tolling operations. Implemented and manage the companies “Price Management” system to ensure that the companies margins are optimized. Managed up to four key business accounts with responsibility for handling customer relations, problem resolution, and contract preparation, and negotiations. Analyzed product and production costs to determine product profitability and participated in make-versus-buy decisions. Charged with increasing market share and profitability in partnership with production, sales, technical, environmental and administrative departments.
Developed and implemented a Customer Contact Database system used throughout the entire corporation. Selected software developer, oversaw database design, gained corporate approval, and trained staff.
Created and executed a logistics cost-saving program that reduced logistics cost by 25% or $600 thousand.
