Internal duties include managing the commercial insurance program, renewals, and negotiating claims; and providing expert consultation service for company projects.

Construction Safety and Health Consultant to a major construction contractor at the Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas. Duties were to monitor contractor and sub-contractor operations to maintain a safe and healthful working environment, at times in extreme weather conditions. Prior contracts included construction consultation to the Chrysler Corporation Launch Team at two production plants in the Greater Detroit area, and the Buick plant in Flint, MI. Function was to coordinate safety and health programs of general contractor and sub-contractors during the demolition, construction and installation of buildings and production equipment.

Managed a staff of two professionals and three clerical employees; consisting of a Human Resources Manager, Safety and Health Specialist, and the supporting staff. Designed and negotiated self-insured workers compensation and health care programs, managed claims and reduced workers compensation costs by 50%.

August 1995 – June 2000
Occupational Safety Specialist assigned to the drilling operations and construction activities. Major function was to convert the company from the Department of Energy safety and health standards to the OSHA standards, and then to evaluate compliance to the OSHA standards once the standards were put in place. Conducted investigations and analyses using job safety analysis, root cause analysis, and risk analysis; wrote programs and trained employees on electrical safety, confined space entry, and assisted in developing the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).

June 1990 – August 1995
Division Safety Engineer responsible for the safety and health engineering for a major jet engine repair and overhaul operations and served as a consultant and Laser Safety Officer to other plants and facilities. Developed and conducted training on a variety of standards, including confined space entry, plating plant emergencies, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). During this tenure, accidents were reduced by 33% in two years.
