Description:

Reliance Power Limited (RPL) – a subsidiary of REL is proposing to set up a 1320 MW Coal based thermal power plant at Dhirubhai Ambani Energy City (DAEC), at village Dehra, Distt Ghaziabad (U.P.). The proposed 1320 MW coal based thermal power plant shall be established within the 1000 hectares site of 7480 MW CCPP (Combined Cycle Power Plant). SENES has been appointed for conducting an Environmental Impact Assessment Study (EIA) for the project.

Description:

Cairn Energy India Pty. Limited (CEIL), on behalf of its joint venture partner Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, is the operator for the RJ-ON-90/1 block in Barmer district in the state of Rajasthan. CEIL has been carrying out hydrocarbon exploration, development and production activities in the block. Mangala Processing Terminal (MPT) was developed in Barmer for processing of well fluids received from different oilfields. CEIL is planning to augment the existing processing facilities at MPT, which will continue to serve as the central hub for processing of well fluids, and set up additional facilities such as inter-field pipelines to connect well pads to the MPT.

Trucking of the crude oil to ports along the Gujarat coast may be an option for evacuation of

the produced crude that cannot be transported through the pipeline.

With this background, CEIL wants to understand the current traffic dynamics along the trucking route which was earlier used for the purpose during the period 2009-2010. The company has engaged SENES India Consultants Pvt. Ltd. for carrying out a baseline traffic study along this route and preparing a detailed report on the outcome of the study.

Responsibilities:

• Primary classified traffic volume count at the following highway junctions on the trucking

route between Barmer in Rajasthan and Kandla in Gujarat and analysis of the contribution of each vehicle type, and especially tankers, to the overall traffic volumes recorded at each

• Performed Noise Analysis and Noise Planning with SoundPLAN. SoundPLAN is a noise and air pollution modeling software that converts an entire plant site and its environment into an abstract computer model where different scenarios can be evaluated and answered.
