- Conceptualized, planned, and scoped all aspects of project activities to test the performance and assess vulnerabilities of Motorola MESH (MotoMESH) wireless networking security within NNSA Pantex site; formulated initial timeline, task descriptions, and cost estimates for the $265 thousand DOE project
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
SANDIA NATIONAL LABORATORIES ~ Albuquerque, NM
PROJECT MANAGER | SYSTEMS ENGINEER 2001-2008
Effectively functioned as senior member of the technical staff and oversaw numerous project management and engineering operations for multiple physical security projects while directing a team of 5 to 20 engineers and technicians and managing approximately $4 to $8 million funding range. Utilized exceptional project management expertise in administering various projects to ensure project completion within time and budget. Played an integral role in developing TacNet Tracker, RoboHound, and DTRA DNEA (Defense Nuclear Event Attribution) robotic sample collection system. Collaborated with different engineers and staff to promote and introduce system engineering processes as well as engineering and project management processes to Sandia based on the Lockheed Martin engineering process standards. Conducted graded project management processes to maintain project cost, scope, and schedule, as well as rendered project management and engineering expertise in various center projects to ensure efficient business performance. Trained and mentored staff in CAD drawings, career, and education goals.
- Collaborated with center quality team to strengthen center performance, engineering, and project management processes; worked with the team in administering and developing center and cluster processes, especially project management processes and requirements, utilizing CMMI Level 2 processes to improve project management processes; analyzed and evaluated center’s high-level architecture
- Rendered technical expertise and assistance to OST technical engineering team to obtain licensing, patenting, and commercialization of the TacNet Tracker
- Accounted for drafting and presenting $1.7 million project proposal to integrate situational awareness to the NTS/DAF using OST TacNet/Tracker technology
- Provided a presentation on the DOE-SO Tech Update; conducted initial testing at TA-V, which showed the need for a better array of test equipment, as well as performed further field-testing at few other x-ray machines
- Proactively involved and engaged in various projects and operations, such as managing and initiating Chemical Agent Detection, analyzing and conceptualizing Card Technologies, and administering Integrated Personnel Checkpoint (MAA)
SANDIA NATIONAL LABORATORIES ~ Albuquerque, NM
SENIOR TECHNICIAN 1995-2001
Mentored and directed intern and staff in various project operation. Planned, formulated, and engineered an ultra-high vacuum chambers and thin film coating systems; worked in Al, Ag, and Si-Ge thin film stress measurements through utilizing LabVIEW stress measurement software, which resulted in nine publications
- Served as materials engineer and led the investigation and analysis of texture evolution during growth and annealing of polycrystalline Ag and Al using situ x-ray diffraction to efficiently analyze texture, stress, and microstructure interaction
- Successfully completed the new thermal cycling chamber; monitored and analyzed the intrinsic stress relaxation behavior of metal thin film, which had never been exposed to atmosphere: and evaluated how surface diffusion and plasticity compete in this case to lend insight into the behavior of passivated metals used in real applications to efficiently analyze and verify how stress relaxation encourages corrosion; this procedure led to the development of one technical advance, two software copyrights, one presentation on SoftMOSS, and a non-disclosure agreement with k-Space Associates for future software collaborations
