Assist more than Thirty PCP’s and Specialist in various patient care elements

Responsible for Escorting pt. from waiting area and perform vital signs, ekg, pregnancy testing, hemoglobin A1c, urinalysis, and strep A testing when necessary, before MD sees the pt., order office supplies.

Maintained pt. records and immunizations, drew up order for blood work for pt., obtain lab pathology and u/s reports, alert MD of abnormal reports, recall pt. for further testing and explain results, triage pt.’s Notify MD message center to come in MD’s office or refer to correct facility, Dx and cpt. codes.

Called in Rx’s to pharmacy, authorize refills on pt. Rx, PA approval for pt. Rx, wrote Rx’s for MD to sign, mailed Rx’s to pt. and pharmacy, wrote medical necessity and office visit letters for pt.’s.

Worked closely with three assigned MD’s in their private practice. While the MD is at the hospital or unavailable, I am the link between the patient and their MD. I will assist the pt. to the best of my ability and to the extent of mine or my supervisor’s authorization. Otherwise, would call MD to advise.
