My responsibilities included design fabrication and manufacture of several hundred different types of products ranging in form from reed valves for jet skis, marine propeller shafts, convoluted boots for the Grand Cherokee, axle seals for semi-trucks, extruded axle seals up to 8 ft. in dia., and many other various parts in between and including the infamous oil seals they were famous for. I am very well versed in compression, injection, transfer, injection transfer, and all the related forms of automation and process to complete a turnkey operation for manufacturing. I have traveled the world for CR as a Tooling, Process, and Manufacturing Engineer. I helped solve all types of process, manufacturing, and startup problems stemming from purchasing, molding, process, and all related equipment for their plants.

Trostel Packings
Lake Geneva, WI
My primary responsibility at Trostel was increasing the productivity of gas spring seals. This consisted of 8 molding machines and 24 different molds. My objective was to increase production by 60% without additional capital expenditures. In six months’ time, I implemented changes to the molding processes in the molding process by: Evaluating current manufacturing methods and making changes to them accordingly; this included metal stamping, rubber compounding, mold design, fixtures, presses, and inspection equipment. After completing this project the scrap rates decreased from 40% down to 3% when my project was finished. I also played a large part in the prototype shop helping out with new products and presenting possible solutions to manufacturing problems that became evident at prototype stage before large capital expenses were made.

I worked with Cimlinc (CIMCAD), Compaq 386/20, and AutoCAD version 10.0, IBM PC (Computer Vision). My portfolio consists of the design of some 350 component parts. My last project was the design and completion of a Barrier Seal Project (Heavy Duty Oil Seals), fully automated for high volume manufacturing.
