Directed and trained accounting and administrative staff in all accounting and payroll functions. Developed forecasts and budgets for the first time in the company’s history. Prepared interim GAAP financial statements, developed internal controls, cross trained accounting staff to insure the safeguard of assets, another first in the company’s history. I improved banking relationships to point of saving the company from foreclosure. I implemented MAS90 for general ledger and accounts payable. *Result: Closed interim periods within 3 days as opposed to previous standard of 35 days, a 91.4 % improvement.

A Rural Electric Cooperative is an electric distribution company owned by its users/members. I was responsible for all accounting and administrative activities and staff of 12 of the trade organization. I was also the consultant to the individual Rural Electric Coops that were our members. I installed MAS90 and trained all users for all accounting functions. Implemented new internals controls to prevent fraud which had occurred before I was hired. I reduced monthly costs for overhead and passed those savings onto our members via their monthly dues. Developed budgets and forecasts and presented monthly reports with graphic summaries to the Board of Directors, a first for the organization and its members. *Result: reduced front office head count from 20 to 12, a 40% reduction due to improved training and elimination of duplicate functions.

Established the company with owner. Responsible for complete startup; accounting software, internal controls, HR, staff, employee benefits and property management. Developed all budgets, templates for sales variances and cost control. *Result: I was instrumental in growing the company from $6 million to $16 million in sales in 6 years, a 62.5% increase.
