EXPERIENCE

11/04 – 11/05 Project Coordinator. Khmer Society of Fresno, Inc., a non-profit organization. Fresno, CA

Work as a Project Coordinator for the Southeast Asian Community Health Cluster Project which funded by The California Endowment. Responsibility included: Provided a health education awareness that emphasizes Diabetes and Hepatitis B management and prevention to Lao and other Southeast Asian community. Provided first screening, referral, and transportation to local health service providers as needed. Provided culture and health awareness training to health care providers and staff by using Power Point presentation.

5/01 – 11/04 Hmong American Community, Inc., a non-profit organization. Fresno, CA

Project Director: Southeast Asian Community Low-Power FM Radio 104.5 KFCA-LP

Responsibilities included: Identified project site; coordinated the construction and installation of the radio antenna and studio. Worked with media consultants, radio engineers, and government official to make sure we are in compliance with FCC laws. Project successfully completed and on air in October 12, 2002.

Project Manager: Long Term Innovation Research Project for Southeast Asian Elderly

Responsibilities included: Coordinate all research activities, focus groups, surveys. Generate monthly project progress and financial report. Project completed and printed in June 2002.

Project Director: Single Family Housing

Responsibilities included: Coordinate and facilitate partnership development with local agencies such as Self-Help Housing (SHE), Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC), US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) of Fresno, banks, and local community-based organizations to initiate an affordable single family housing for the low-income Southeast Asian families in Fresno County. Work with project partners on pre-development such as land acquisition, mapping, zoning, sewage line, utility, etc. Coordinate the development of a culturally sensitivity on home buyer education curriculum to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of the community.

Project Manager: Youth, Leadership and Violence Prevention Project. Responsibilities included: Organize and coordinate an after school program on gang and violence prevention, leadership and sports activities for Southeast Asians youth.

Controller/Bookkeeper/Administrative/Newsletter

Responsibilities included: Issued reimbursement checks, payroll checks, and account payable. Maintain and file recordkeeping. General office duties including answer telephone, order office supplies, filling. Generated quarterly newsletter and mailed to sponsors and community members.

8/00 – 4/01 Validator/Inspector. Starlight Candle Co. Bloomington, MN

Responsibilities included: Inspected incoming raw materials. Inspected final products and tested finished products for compliance of company’s quality standards including adjustment of lab work to meet customer color and other specifications. Inspect the set up of the production line.

11/98 – 8/00 General Manager. Extended Stay America. Bloomington, MN

Report to District Manager. Administration and overall operations 104 rooms’ hotel. Responsibilities included: Recruiting, training, supervising, promoting, and firing employees. Developed an annual budget and cost control methodology to increase company profitability. Coordinate all activities in the hotel facility including front desk, guess services, housekeepers, maintenance functions, etc. Implement and complied of safety standards hazards such as OSHA and Bloodbone Pathogens. Directed sales and promote marketing including quality services to ensure the highest customer satisfaction.

Asian technical assistant and Lao bilingual translator such as assisted in organizing cultural and extra curriculum activities. Established a cooperative relationship between teachers and parents.
