Developed and implemented a variety of lessons in each of the subject areas for students in a fourth grade regular education classroom; provided adequate instruction to fit the different needs of the students including auditory, spatial, linguistic, gifted, English language, and impulsive learners, including students with other specific needs. Incorporated activities and resources with a major focus on technologic, musical, and kinesthetic needs. Followed guidelines of a Writer’s Workshop by monitoring and assessing the process of developing a weekly writing piece. Provided age specific projects allowing further growth in knowledge of topics directly related to district standards. Created a classroom filled with collaboration, group activities, and extended learning. Modeled different learning strategies such as guided reading and writing through a balanced literacy approach. Created and implemented multiple lessons to third grade students in the subject area of Integrated Language Arts. Lessons included the use of reading comprehension strategies, including making inferences, displaying graphic organizers, sequencing, revising, and questioning. Designed lessons to guide students through the writing process by drafting, editing, producing, and presenting Language Arts assignments. Motivated student interest through hands-on learning and providing opportunities to be creative. Provided instruction based on a balanced literacy approach. Monitored student progress through guided reading and writing strategies. Frequently incorporated technology to review vocabulary, assess progress, and meet the needs of each student.
