KEY EXPERIENCE

• Working as a Certified Nurse Assistant I handle short and long term rehabilitation care for patients of all ages. I am asked to assist nurses with special procedures and engage in patient assessment discussions. Results: Nursing staff is allowed to more rapidly treat multiple patients.

• As a Certified Nurse Assistant I immediately report any abnormal status, pertinent observations, and patient complaints to a nurse. Results: Increased patient knowledge for nursing staff means that treatment can be initiated early leading to improved patient outcome.

• While stationed at the South Pole in Antarctica I was a member of the First Response Trauma Team and the Advanced Care Medical Team. During a crush limb injury accident I was the first to arrive on scene establishing scene safety and directing triage. After extraction and transport to the medical facility I directly assisted the physician in patient treatment and recovery. Result: Physician was able to prepare for patient arrival in the facility while I ensured patient stability in the field. Physician was able to rapidly treat the more severe injuries while I cared for patient stability and treatment of minor injuries.

• Working as Home Health Care Provider with an elderly client who suffers from Parkinson, type 2 diabetes, fibromyalgia and colon removal post-operative care, I provided services including hygiene, bathing, eating and wound care. Results: Patient had improved quality of life, and healed rapidly from surgery.

• As a Respite Care Provider for a five and three year-old siblings with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder, I provided transportation to occupational therapy, lead sensory stimulation activities, provided bladder and bowel care, socialization and public interaction assistance, and help with dressing, grooming and hygiene. Results: Increased verbalization and improved communication. Child also demonstrates improved social behavior control.

• Working as a Project Planner, I completed a detailed inventory and validation of mechanical, architectural, structural, and electrical materials crucial for completing the new cargo facility. I located materials that were thought to have been lost in the harsh south pole environment and led a crew to find materials that were stored for more than six years in a vast outdoor storage yard. Results: Saved the USAP tens of thousands of dollars

• Led a team of six individuals coordinating with seven departments to complete logistic preparation for the international Ice Cube Experiment. Team was responsible logistic support for materials, equipment, personnel support, and preparing the ground and ice and location for experiment. Results: The Ice Cube project completed project milestones ahead of schedule, and surpassed drilling and equipment placement goals, allowing them to also surpass data collection goals, moving forward the scientific experiments

• Working as a Martial Arts Instructor, in a combat zone in Iraq, I identified the need to improve training for Marines in combat skills, and working with one other instructor, we designed a training program tailored to the specific audience and their unique needs to ensure that the Marines would be able to quickly master key skills. Results: Trained 24 Marines up to brown belt level, improving their combat readiness.
