Chinese Drywall Experts is a general contractor specializing in the remediation and reconstruction of residential and commercial properties affected by corrosive drywall. As production manager of the company I am responsible for negotiating contracts with sub-contractors, developing a building/production schedule for each property, scheduling sub-contractors and managing all of the accounting books associated with each property. I am also responsible for producing estimates and bids for upcoming projects. The experience encouraged me to advance my career in a business setting and I now plan on pursuing an MBA.
Walgreens Pharmacy: 12/04 – 4/10
I began my career at Walgreens as an intern during my second year of pharmacy school. During this time I had the opportunity to work with several different pharmacists all of which had an impact on how I practice pharmacy. Upon graduation I relocated to Florida and was immediately promoted to pharmacy manager. As a pharmacy manager I was responsible for the day to day operations of my pharmacy. I managed a staff ranging from 4 to 7 employees who included other pharmacists, technicians and cashiers. I was responsible for controlling costs through maintaining an appropriate drug inventory, reducing shrink and the efficient usage of technician hours. I am able to confidently and effectively convey information to patients, insurance companies and other health care professionals. I embraced my clinical role through programs such as immunization clinics, MTM and giving presentations at health fairs. I took the opportunity to learn the business end thorough the working relationships I had with the store managers. I learned about sales, merchandising, overhead and the steps needed for the growth and success of a business on a small scale and large scale. I look forward to the opportunity to further develop my professional career.

During my investigational drug rotation at Hershey Medical Center I gained firsthand knowledge of the management of clinical trials in different phases. I had the opportunity to attend an investigational review board meeting. This experience had a tremendous impact on my ethical beliefs and taught me how to strongly critique journal articles and the design of studies. My drug information rotation was completed at Novartis. I was able to see a glimpse of the industry and some of the steps taken to get drug from compound through post-marketing.
