WellPoint HIPAA5010 and ICD10 encompass over 25+ projects and over 500 individuals each. As part of the HIPAA Center of Excellence (COE), Kathy aided with the roll out and mentoring of the several of Rational Suite of Tools (RequisitePro – Requirements Management, Rational Software Modeler Process and Requirement Modeling, and Rational Quality Manager - Testing), with main focus on RequisitePro. During this time, she worked closely with Program Management to determine Requirement Management needs, developed process and usage models for managing requirements using RequisitePro / ReqWeb. Ensured requirements are managed consistently across the programs. Developed and provided weekly webinars on ReqWeb usage, allowing for team / individual mentoring and group discussion on various ReqWeb activities. With the role out of RQM, Kathy is working closely with the Testing Team to ensure the transition from requirements gather using RequisitePro through to testing activities using RQM were seamless. She and the COE team provide mentoring session and training activities on an as needed basis and schedule webinars/live meetings. She continues to work closely with the testing leads for the project to ensure requirements are test, and all testing activities are captured in RQM. Part of GovConnect’s re-engineering team working for the State of Georgia on ‘Proof of Concept’ Safe Futures Project for the Georgia SACWIS initiative. ‘Proof of Concept’ team was tasked with reviewing current business model (including business practices, process and tools), developing new model, business practices and process, developing and delivering training and mentoring staff (in selected counties) on new business model.

Responsibilities include developing current and new model way of “doing business”, interviewing business staff, developing and training business staff on new models “team approach” (instead of individuals working alone), and training on new model. On-going monitoring will include requirement gathering for the development of the new software that will replace the current paper driven way of doing business.
