Responsible for the design of all tooling and fixturing. Programming of all CNC machines, including horizontal and vertical machining centers. Set-up and first piece of all parts on all machines. Responsible for the training of all operators on all processes.

August 1996 – March 2009 The Fabrication Shop, Fostoria, Ohio

Tool Room Manager – Less than 10 employees in a 15,000-sq. ft. shop making custom tooling, dies, fixturing, molds, and custom fabrications. Responsible for all facets of tool room including quoting new jobs, CNC programming and the drawing and updating of all prints. We currently use Feature Mill by EGS and have Fanuc or Heidenhain controls on all of our machines. I do all the CAD/CAM work and set-up for all machines. I am familiar with G-Code and can write simple programs by hand when necessary. I have programmed up to four axis lathes and 3 axis machining centers.

Process/Manufacturing Engineer (June 1995-Dec. 1995) – Responsible for processing and manufacturing improvements on the Chrysler V-10 crankshaft currently being produced for the Mound Road Engine Plant in Detroit, Michigan

CNC Manager (June 1994-June 1995) – Responsibilities included complete control of all CNC lathes, mills, and personnel

Responsible for training all personnel, working closely with all operators to make sure that jobs were set up and running properly, and that all the required tooling was available and tracked for cost analysis.

Tool Room Supervisor (June 1993-June 1994) – Responsible for approximately 12 toolmakers and 3 apprentices. Duties included delegating all tool work, fixturing and ordering all special material, components, etc. to complete each job. Worked closely with engineering to make sure all information and changes were relayed properly

Quality Control Manager (Nov. 1991-June 1993) – Responsible for approx. 8 quality control technicians. Duties included making sure all gauging was ordered for jobs and that the gauging was calibrated at the required intervals. Taught employees the basic principles behind SPC and its use for controlling our process. Directly responsible for the changes in policy and procedures that led to Norton Mfg. Achieving Ford Motor Co.’s Q1 Award and Chrysler’s Quality Excellence Award. Worked closely with Ford and Chrysler quality engineers to achieve these highly recognized status symbols my first year as Quality Manager

Tool & Die Maker (Aug. 1976-Nov. 1991) – Skills include use of all tool room equipment not limited to mills, lathes, grinders (both ID and OD), drill presses, jig borers, mig and tig welding gauging tools including CMMs. Personally built and assisted design of over 100 pierce, blank, form, and progressive dies.
