Profile
I have 10 years of experience in a variety of jobs within the Telecommunications industry. I am a quick learner and also able to work on my own and prioritize in order to get all of my work done in a timely manner, with little supervision. I have 6 years of experience in a Network Operations Center
environment and 4 years of hands-on provisioning and maintenance experience using hand tools and various pieces of telecommunications equipment including, but not limited to: test equipment, multiplexers, switching equipment, digital cross-connect systems, dense wave division multiplexers, broadband switches and D4 channel banks. I also have some experience with power
equipment from working in AT&T’s Power crew, who handles all central office and some customer power plants.
Experience
Electronic Technician, BellSouth/AT&T Telecommunications, Nashville & Chattanooga, TN, JAN 2001-JUN 2011
I started, with BellSouth, in their Network Reliability Center. I monitored the company and customer owned equipment. I worked with BellSouth field technicians to troubleshoot equipment and carrier troubles, seeking guidance from higher level support, when needed. I worked with customers to troubleshoot alarms and errors within not only BellSouth/AT&T’s network, but also the customer’s network. After 6 years in the center, I transferred to a hands-on central office job where I covered 6
central offices within the Chattanooga area. There I performed not only maintenance work, but also provisioning work. I installed service ranging from the POTS level up to fiber optic circuits. I worked with other central office technicians, telco’s, test center personnel, outside technicians and customers, to help isolate and clear troubles within my offices. I also spent some time in the Power Crew and was responsible for the power equipment in 20 central offices in East Tennessee. I ran generators, maintained acid batteries, start batteries, and diesel tanks, while following EPA guidelines. I performed routine preventative maintenance on the power plants and tested alarms, periodically.
Education
ITT Technical Institute, Nashville, TN – I earned an Associates of Applied Science in Electronics
Engineering in September of 1998.
