Specialized Manufacturing Project
The purpose of this 6 month long project was to apply the knowledge gained during my course work to a manufacturing enterprise where I created and manufactured products from inception to shipment. Some outcomes of the project were as follows:
• Demonstrated mastery of manufacturing materials and processes as well as manufacturing systems in the design of a complete manufacturing plan to produce a product at medium volume levels (30 products during a 6 hour production run)
• Applied the principles and process of quality assurance as well as the statistical process control tools to manage a high quality manufacturing enterprise
• Designed a manufacturing process to produce the product in a timely, low cost, high quality manner
• Executed mastery in the use of business analysis tools including cost estimation, return on investment and payback
• Demonstrated a high level of communication skills during written, technical drawing and presentation activities
• Developed and understood the interrelationship of various manufacturing documentation
• Applied the four fundamentals of management: Planning, Organization, Leading, and Controlling, to a production situation.
• Represented personal integrity and ethical behavior in a team working toward a common goal
