Began as a Volunteer Assistant, helping with the basic shelter upkeep tasks in the area of maintenance. I mopped the floors of each client’s room on the 2nd floor, cleaned the bath room, helped to organize the donated clothes by sizes and categories, and performed laundry duties. Currently, I volunteer for an average of 16 hours monthly as a Volunteer Office Clerk assisting in filing, organizing the mail of the clients for mail call, answering the phone and greeting the general public upon entry of the shelter.
