MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Health & Welfare Plans:

• $800K savings in 2010 and 2011 by eliminating the health plan gatekeeper requirement, renegotiating monthly fees and making only minimal plan design changes; $1.6 million savings realized in 2009 by self-insuring medical plan for 1,000 employees.

• Improved efficiency and accuracy of data transmissions to various vendors from seven site HR staff by outsourcing benefits transactions. Cost/benefit analysis indicated $150K savings each year. Project managed and operational within three months.

Retirement Plans:

Administrative Committee member on various savings plans overseeing annual reporting to regulatory agencies and employees, restating plans as required, conducting educational sessions, and presenting data in scorecard format to executive committee members.

In 2010 concluded termination of a defined benefit plan including fund transfers to employees and 5500 reporting.

In 2008, combined three separate 401(k) plans into one plan and restated the Canadian pension savings plan.

Mergers, Acquisitions and System Implementations:

• Served on several integration committees to ensure benefit issues were addressed appropriately for various employee groups, including retiree medical and employees under collective bargaining agreements.

• Completed due diligence comparisons of all policies, procedures, and benefits for acquisitions and divestiture activities.

• Benefits project lead for conversions to: PeopleSoft HRIS and Oracle systems as well as when benefits were outsourced.

Expatriates, Relocation and Communications:

• Relocated senior management families from Germany and United Kingdom to United States and relocated new hires to various US locations as required.

• Communicated benefit plan features via printed collateral, webinars and recorded sessions.

Benefits Director – Managed team of 14 responsible for self-insured medical plans, 403(b) plans, life and disability programs, relocation, executive compensation, employee workers’ compensation clinic, and voluntary benefits.
