To whom it may concern:
Catherine Coley was a student in an online section of a pharmacology
course I teach at Anne Arundel Community College. As you may realize,
online courses in general require students to be motivated to complete
work and meet deadlines without formally coming to a traditional
classroom. That means the students who do best are able to be
self-starters. Few students have been more successful than Cathy.
Cathy was hospitalized in the course of the semester. Generally, this
is an insurmountable situation for students. She was unique in my
experience in that she always stayed on top of her assignments, quizzes
and other course work. She was determined and very successful at
fulfilling her goals.
I think that anyone hiring her would benefit from her intelligence,
perseverance and friendly manner.
Please contact me if I can provide any further information.
Sincerely,
Carla N. Showacre, MA, MS, PharmD

RE: The purpose of this letter is to recommend Ms. Cathy Coley for employment.
I had the pleasure of teaching Ms. Cathy Coley in a law and ethics course as part of the IV/ECG Technician Program at Anne Arundel Community College in the fall of 2010. Ms. Coley is very intelligent and she received one of the highest grades in her class. She has a clear understanding of medical law and ethics and she was very engaged and insightful in the assigned weekly discussions.
Ms. Coley is confident and professional in her interactions with her instructors and her classmates. She presented her views on controversial topics in a kind and respectful manner. Ms. Coley has a strong work ethic. For example, Ms. Coley required hospitalization in the middle of the semester and yet she was very determined to complete all of the coursework despite her illness.
Ms. Coley is a bright and motivated individual. She is very capable of performing the skills required to work as an IV/ECG Technician and of learning any new skills required for a particular area of employment within the health care field. Cathy Coley exemplifies the values and principles of Anne Arundel Community College. It is my pleasure to recommend her for employment.
