Owner/manager

• I purchased a share in our family newsagent/off licence in St Johns Precinct Liverpool city centre.

• Responsible for P&L, cash flow, stock and budget control, staffing and general management.

RIFT MINERAL RESOURCES (Zimbabwe) 2003-2005

METALLURGICAL CONSULTANT

• Responsible for the companies metallurgical management and development

• I advised on a variety of gold extraction projects

• All plant and metallurgical design fell under my control

• I managed all engineering ,admin and personnel in Zimbabwe

• Responsible for refurbishing and commissioning the Mid winter gold mine in Chegutu near Kadoma

EDEL METAL RECOVERIES LTD (South Africa) 1996-2003

COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

• Managed and controlled the commercial activities of the business, P&L, determine budgets and controlled and coordinated forward estimates of waste purchases

• I controlled and negotiated the waste management contracts to acquire large waste dumps from the gold mines in South Africa.

• Scheduled the loading and transportation of each consignment in keeping with the rules and regulations of the Council for Nuclear Safety.

• I coordinated the calcining and precious metal extraction of each batch, liaising with the individual mines and our production facility, to ensure materials were not confused with other consignments.

• I negotiated and organised payment to the mine and sale of the gold to the government (Rand refineries).

• All personnel and legal management fell under my control. I was directly responsible for all hiring and firing, salaries and wages and any safety or legal maters that arose.

EDEL METAL RECOVERIES LTD 1992-1996

COMMERCIAL MANAGER

• Responsible for the management of two sales representatives including my own portfolio.

• Visiting gold mines throughout South Africa purchasing and negotiating contracts to either purchase or toll treat organic gold bearing waste.

• Controlled the analytical laboratory and staff.

• The turn over of the business increased from R3m to R15m/annum due to my acquisition of mine contracts.

• I introduced the treatment of waste activated carbon and woodchips from underground mine props to EMR. This gave a new and lucrative direction to the company as a result I was rewarded by being promoted to commercial director.

• AECI LTD 1990-1992

ASSISTANT SALES MANAGER

• Daily control of three mining technical sales representatives, maintaining the sale and delivery of cyanide, hydrochloric acid and caustic soda to the gold mines of southern Africa. Total reagent sales in excess of R500m/annum.

• I controlled the reagent contract and price negotiations with the mining houses.

• Being a member of the mining business team I assisted in developing the companies marketing and sales strategies

• I correlated the forward estimates sales of our clients and controlled reagent stocks.

• I controlled and coordinated the activities of the technical engineering representatives who visited the individual metallurgical plants to advice on reagent safety and input into reagent handling and tank farm design.

• I acted as sales manager when necessary

AECI LTD 1985-1990

SENIOR TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

• Responsible for sales of cyanide, hydrochloric acid and caustic soda to the gold mines of the Witwatersrand gold fields of South Africa.

• Report to the assistant sales manager on mining reagent requirements

• Advise on new projects or developments to be under taken by the mines.

• Visit and build relationships with key mining personnel

AECI EXPLOSIVES LTD 1983-1985

TECHNICAL OFFICER FUSE DEPT

• Responsible for the technical efforts of the fuse detonating cord plant

• Research and development the product and plant process to ensure optimum quality, quantity and safety.

• Assist in day to day production and act as plant superintendent when required.
