Summary

I am a Lead QA Analyst with 15+ years of experience in all phases of the software development life cycle. I also have extensive experience in automation of testing. During my career, I have functioned as a lead Quality Assurance Analyst, a test team project manager, a test automation lead and a quality assurance coach. I have been leading large to small size teams for 10+ years and have been coordinating the testing activities and have been estimating, prioritizing, scheduling, assigning work, doing defect management, generating triage reports as a test lead. As a Quality Assurance lead I have been responsible for introducing quality practices and methodologies like acceptance test driven development (ATDD) in the agile projects.

My breadth of knowledge includes all facets of performing quality assurance and testing functions on Client Server, Windows, Mainframe, Web-based and Data Warehouse applications. I have worked on projects following different methodologies and currently working with agile methodology for 4 years. I am comfortable creating test plans, automated test scripts, test cases, acceptance criterias, planning and executing systems, integration, functional and regression testing. I have been extensively involved in the analyses of use cases, story cards and complex business requirements to ensure the testability of the product.

I have managed various automation projects and have experience in jump starting automation projects and training testing staff in automation frameworks and testing processes. I am proficient in automation tools like WinRunner, QTP, Fitnesse, Cucumber, Ruby and Quality Center for automated/manual test management and defect management.

I possess extensive functional knowledge in the telecommunications, investments, auto insurance and aviation industries as it relates to software quality assurance and testing.

Project Description

I have worked with multiple projects in Nationwide Insurance including Investments, Data Warehouse, Web Services and conversion of Auto insurance legacy batch to on-line services.

Accomplishments/Responsibilities :

Direct report to the Director of Application Development Center.

Working with the Director on the testing budget, managing resources, hiring test engineers.

Working with the test team from business units to introduce and train them in agile testing methodology.

Developed a test design techniques course for the organization. Taught test teams across the whole organization.

NetJets is a provider of fractional aircraft ownership and Charter Services and maintains the aircraft fleet for the owners. The GUI interface application developed in-house lets personnel make reservations from the front end, enter flight information and provide real time status on the flights in graphics.

Accomplishments

Analyzed requirements and wrote test cases/use cases.

Performed manual functional and regression testing of the GUI interface.

Created coding standards for automation development.

Participated in creation of global libraries containing functions for use by automation developers in script development. Responsible for designing the test automation frame work and establishing the automation test environment

Introduced Test Management in Quality Assurance Department with Quality Center, was responsible for the administration initially.

Mentored other test analysts in Quality Center, WinRunner and automation methodologies.

NetMinder is a network management product for almost-real-time network status. It has the GUI interface as well as the old ASCII screens to enter data and create reports.

Accomplishments

Wrote master system test plans, which included system test schedules to meet deadlines, entrance/exit criteria, and test strategies.

Actively involved in the complete software development cycle. Participated in requirement reviews, design reviews, document reviews, demonstrations, and acceptance of the product to system test.

Planned & prioritize test activities on a day to day basis and assignment of work to team members to meet the dead lines and mile stones

Created tools for tracking system test status (Excel, Access, Test Management tools).

Generated weekly system test status graphs for the senior management to help them understand the product quality before delivery.
