Interim Safety Engineer-Motiva Enterprises – Convent, LA - 9/11-Present
Report to the Refinery H&S Manager and responsible for supporting the refinery SHE Department to stay in compliance with Corporate policies and federal, state, and local regulations. Primary functions include working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Inspections and other disciplines to ensure safety and health requirements are understood and conveyed throughout the organization, develop and deliver safety meeting modules, investigate injuries, illnesses and near misses and developing and communicating corrective action plans to prevent repeat incidents, perform, report and develop strategies as a result of plant wide safety and health auditing, provide oversight for contractors on site ensuring regulatory compliance issues are addressed. Current projects include implementing improved hand protection policies and procedures by analyzing and selecting appropriate hand protection for jobs performed and performing CBA to justify recommendations. Selecting and assisting the delivery of site wide weekly safety meeting criteria.
