Senior Project Manager (2002 to 2004)

• Remodeled 5 full-line Sears stores with a total budget of $9.5 million for construction and fixturing. Led team of 5-8 people on each project. In most cases sales increased during the remodel.

• Evaluated and redesigned 25 stores in Washington and Oregon for ADA compliance, limiting company exposure to litigation.

• Trained project managers, job superintendents, clerical and support staff in project tracking, management and administration.

• Conducted field meetings with contractors, architects, government officials and field personnel to resolve code issues, define the scope of work, resolve conflict and set performance and quality standards.

Senior Project Manager (1996 to 2002)

• Responsible for the construction of 10 to 15 hardware stores each year, operating under the “Orchard Supply Hardware” name in California and “Sears Hardware” name on the East Coast. This was a combination of new construction and renovation of existing buildings.

• Trained project managers, job superintendents, clerical and support staff in project tracking, management and administration.

• Conducted bi-weekly progress meetings with senior management on progress of projects.

• Developed spreadsheets and databases to track multiple projects on different time lines to coordinate personal, merchandise, construction and fixture delivery.

Project Manager (1992 to 1996)

Managed Major Maintenance of roofing, paving, HVAC and structural work in the Midwestern region of the United States. I was also responsible for the creation of about 40 support facilities (i.e. Auto Centers, Parts & Service Centers, Hardware stores, and Catalog Outlets) over a four year period.

Planning Supervisor (1988 to 1992)

Responsible for the construction planning and scheduling of all new construction (approximately 60 stores) in the Southern region of the United States and Puerto Rico. Reviewed and approved all construction documents for errors and emissions. Initiated measures to reduce cost.

Planner-in-Charge (1979 to 1988)

Responsible for the store planning of new construction and remodels for the Southern region of the United States (approximately 45 stores of 60,000 to 200,000 square feet each); directed personnel in merchandising, planning, drafting and C.A.D. in the timely completion of fixture plans.

Divisional Planner (1977 to 1979)

Worked with store planners and merchants to develop typical floor plans for the Men’s and Children’s departments. These were for national rollout and to establish new store planning guidelines.
