Description: Merger of Vodafone Australia and Telecom Hutchison Australia, Vodafone New Zealand has commissioned a number of initiatives to separate their operations from those of the merged Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA). This initiated the Siebel and Websphere Business Integration (WBI) database to lift and shift from Australia to New Zealand.

Responsibilities:

Part of Database Migration team who involved in the entire migration solution design placed at the client location at New Zealand.

As the replication tool, Oracle GoldenGate is widely used. Replication strategy and implementation was part of my responsibilities.

Involving Oracle / GoldenGate technical team to assess our solution strategies for further improvement and identifying the areas of challenges.

Activities:

• Provided proof of concept of GoldenGate replication, keeping SIEBEL and WBI migration in mind.

• As the replication tool, Oracle GoldenGate is widely used. Replication strategy and implementation was part of my responsibilities.

2) Project Name : Sprint Nextel

Description: Handling a team of 26 experienced Oracle DBAs. Team is responsible for 24/7 Monitoring, Support and Maintenance of 120 production Databases belongs to Sprint-Nextel, one of the major telecom giant in US. Database sizes are ranging from 5TB to 200TB.

Responsibilities:

Reviewing application codes like procedure, functions, packages that will be deployed in production environment in the upcoming releases.

Each and every SQL queries are extracted from the stored procedures and performance are checked in production.

Daily query performance issues facing from different batch jobs are looked into.

Monitoring performance of Standby database recovery and GoldenGate replications on daily basis.

Checking for Logical and RMAN hot backup completion mails, need to investigate the ones which have failed.

Developing a Goldengate reporting environment with Shell Scripts and PL/SQL stored procedure, the report tool used is Jasper.
