Perceptual Quality Design Appearance Quality Department (PQ/DAQ)
Appearance Launch Lead 2009-2011
Launched vehicles on-time and with approved appearance by conducting timely cross functional team reviews with corrective actions until all approved appearance standard components are submitted.
Analyzed vehicle competitiveness in the marketplace to better understand our competitors attributes and develop Bill of Attributes (BOA) for the program competitive set. Identified interior & exterior quality issues and ensure issue closure within the cross functional teams. Represented the voice of the customer in relation to visual quality. Interfaced with design team and materials engineer to input attributes into the Statement of Requirements (SOR) that defines color, grain, and gloss for components. Initiated Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) master process to aid in the appearance validation process. Lead team in virtual analysis to identify potential issues and ensure color, grain, and gloss harmony expectations. Gave perceptual quality input to team for resolving possible issues. Created Design Appearance Release (DAR) Document, the gold source to globally document and define appearance of each vehicle. Interfaced daily with suppliers to approve, track, document solutions and report weekly the appearance of each component to ensure standards were met. Interfaced weekly with plant launch manager and suppliers around the vehicle at the production assembly plant to ensure approved appearance solutions/modifications were met.
