Engineer (Software) in the Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) team for GE Sensing & Inspection. Remote Visual Inspection allows the inspection of components in complex systems such as aircraft engines without disassembling the engine modules, surrounding structure or removing the engine from an aircraft. I was involved in the development of application software – integrated data management and productivity tools, for a video boroscope called the XLG3. This device is used to remotely inspect industrial grade equipment for surface level defects with the help of a video probe.

• Responsibilities included software enhancements, bug fixing and developer testing.

• Successfully designed and implemented several complex, high impact features for the XLG3 software – in particular received the project of the month award for providing simple and elegant solution for MDI scrolling feature.

• Improved and streamlined the XLG3 software build process to reduce the overall execution time for the RVI XLG3 projects. Man hour savings for 2008 - 60 hours. The process improvement was implemented using the 6-Sigma DMAIC methodology, and awarded with the GE green belt certification for the same.

• Mentoring of new team members.

• Technical presentations and trainings to team members.

• Participated in Code reviews and Document reviews within the RVI team.

• Testing of Software Applications for the XLG3 product and identifying critical bugs.
