Safety Manager: Develop and lead the implementation of plant-specific safety initiatives and strategies that identify injury-causing risks/gaps and address mitigation of those gaps. Train and involve employees in the identification of hazards and risks and the development and implementation of controls. Develop measurements of the site safety culture annually; train and deploy the safety committee or employee team(s) to address key activities to improve the safety culture. Maintain accurate and up-to-date written compliance programs consistent with applicable state and federal regulations. HR/Safety Manager: Primarily responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy operating environment for over 100 union employees. Develop policies and advise top management of all areas regarding federal and state employment law and compliance standards. Conduct/coordinate and develop all required safety training and audits to maintain full compliance with company policy and OSHA VPP Star status regulations. Conduct weekly/monthly plant walk-through and site inspections to ensure full OSHA compliance. Maintenance Department LCPO/Division Senior Chief Petty: Seventeen year experience actively planning, coordinating, and supervising the safe maintenance practices and operations efforts for 5 C-130T and 12 P-3C aircraft, with 8 distinct departments and approximately 120 personnel. Scheduled and monitored long and short range major aircraft overhauls/modifications, coordinating with both civilian contractors and other Naval commands. As Quality Assurance CPO, performed, analyzed, and monitored trend performance for preventative maintenance system, documenting significant maintenance problems for corrections at engineering levels. Actively participated in command Safety Program as maintenance department leader, receiving accolades from the Navy Safety Center for implementing local procedures designed to incorporate higher than necessary safety precautions. Developed and implemented personnel qualifications database to ensure highest possible personnel performance. Monitored and audited aircraft flight and maintenance repair log books.
