Sr. Fixed Network Engineer, Philadelphia, PA

Responsible for all transport (SONET optical level to T1 level). Developing and implementing an optimized network (DS3 hubs, OCn rings). Creating a least cost hubbing network to support our cell sites and reduce mileage cost from the Verizon long haul T1 costs. Capacity management; rings, DS3’s and DACS (Tellabs) ports assignments. Review all Master Service Agreements (MSA) and Inter-Connect Agreements (ICA). Carrier Relation; meet with all vendors and negotiate ring and high capacity (OCn & DS3) cost to best meet our cost effective network. Building a Least Cost Routing network; identifying rate centers, ordering and establishing LRNs and NPA-NXXs in support to our market. Establish SS7 links, to include all ISUP A-links for all the trunks. Working with our Site Construction Team in preparing cell sites readiness to support T1’s (ensuring conduit is built to the LEC Demarc) and coordinate any special construction needed in getting the site ready. Ordering and coordinating installation of all transport facilities to our DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) Hotel locations, in support of our core DAS nodes within our market. Coordinate with our RF team and TCS in support of our E911 network (all phases). Managing contractors as they support us in launching this market and training them varies tools.
