1. Post Doctoral Scientist (Sep 2007-till date) in the group of Prof (Dr.) David. F. Moffett, School of biological Sciences, Washington state University, Pullman, WA: in An NIH funded research project on ion transport and gut physiology of Mosquitoes.

2. Senior Research Fellow (2002-2005) in my own research project funded by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India, on genetics of insecticide resistance.

3. Project Assistant (1998-1999) in a research project entitled Evaluation of insecticide resistance in Anopheles and Aedes mosquitoes.

4. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

In the last four years, my research analyzes mechanisms of the transport of nutrients and acid-base equivalents across the cell membranes. Our interests are centered on the physiology of epithelial cells, the cells that line surfaces of the body and are the key transporting cells of organs like intestine. We study the ion channels and transport mechanisms that are involved in the different segments of the mosquito midgut. A combination of electrophysiology, pharmacology, immunohistochemistry and molecular biology techniques are used to understand the different mechanisms. I studied the development and mechanisms of pyrethroid resistance for my doctoral studies.

5. EXPERIMENTAL SKILLS
