EXPERIENCE:
2012: Consulting Engineer, Equisales Associates Houston, Texas. Advising this company on mechanical engineering issues related to packaging support equipment for overseas fast-track emergency power plant installations.
2009 – 2011: Engineering Manager, APR Energy, LLC Jacksonville, Florida. Managed all engineering services for APR Energy including CAD, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering functions. Provided engineering support for business development, plant installations, and plant operations. During this time provided engineering services for projects in Ecuador, Peru, and Argentina, in South America; Botswana, Burkina Faso, and Senegal in Africa; Yokosuka and Hitachinaka, in Japan. Performed failure analysis which led to the recall of major components on over 250 diesel engine generators by an international manufacturer. This saved APR millions of dollars in maintenance and repair costs.
2008 - 2009: Vice President, Indeck Energy Services, Inc., Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Managed project management group including completion of a 90,000 ton per year wood pellet plant. Responsible for the operations of all Indeck owned and operated facilities consisting of 800 MW of natural gas and oil based generation and a 15 MW wood-fired plant.
2007 - 2008: Consultant MPRA Associates, Inc. Alexandria, Virginia and Wood Group Power Operations Windsor, Connecticut. Provided technical support for clients in the acquisition of generating assets. Provided project engineering and management services for oil based engine-generator set in Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, Western Africa.
1999 - 2006: Senior Vice President, Indeck Energy Services, Inc., Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Managed business development team which completed all front-end development work for two 1,000 MW GTCC base load plants to be located in Michigan and Illinois. Completed all front-end development work for a 450 MW open cycle peaking plant located in Rockford, IL. Responsible for the operations of all Indeck owned and operated facilities consisting of 800 MW of natural gas and oil based generation. Worked on development of oil based engine-generator set deployment in Afghanistan and Liberia, West Africa.
1993 - 1999: President, Thompson Consulting Services, Inc. Elkhart, Indiana. Provided engineering and development consulting services to Central and South West Corporation, Siemens Power Ventures, and Mobil Power Inc. Working for Mobil provided development services for a 750 MW GTCC plant located in the UK and for two 750 MW GTCC plants in Germany.
1992: Executive Vice President, Northeast Cogen. Inc. Fort Wayne, Indiana. Developed a 40 MW GTCC gas fired cogeneration facility planned for location in Solvay, New York.
1989 - 1992: Director Business Development, CMS Generation Co. Dearborn, Michigan. Responsible for development of wood and gas fired facilities in the state of Michigan.
