OBJECTIVE

Looking for a new mission to strive toward. Want to create plans, products, and standards to achieve that. Enjoy working with others with that same common purpose.

EMPLOYMENT

CG Thermal, Twinsburg, OH

Project Engineer May 2010-present

Designed heat exchangers made from steel, graphite, and ceramic for the chemical processing industry. Built a library of several hundred drawings, new standards included, from almost nothing. Managed project schedules using Gantt timelines and spreadsheets from formats I created. Shopped for product components and dealt with vendor technical questions, often saving thousands of dollars and catching problems before they happen. Designed heat exchangers and shop equipment with the collaboration of sales, quality control, and production personnel to meet everyone’s needs.

Effox Inc., West Chester, OH

Design Engineer April 2006 - November 2009

Designed efficient & cost effective dampers derived from basic customer specifications. Created large assembly drawings for customer clarification & approval. After customer approval, created machining & welding drawings later assembled into packages for fabrication. Communicated standards with customers, project managers, & shop personnel to make overall damper production run fluently.

Carlin America / Harbormaster Marine, Livonia, MI

CAD Draftsman June 1999 – March 2006

Produced computer-aided machining and assembly drawings used for ship engine fixture fabrication. Converted outdated drawings from paper to CAD format to current engineering standards. Edited and printed drawings, directions, and bills of materials to produce service manuals. Managed a library of 50,000+ drawings dating back 70 years.

SKILLS & VALUABLE ATTRIBUTES

- 12 years experience in Microsoft Word & Excel as well as all AutoCAD versions. Designed to ANSI, OSHA, and ASME standards. I have found adapting to new programs that perform similar functions to these quite easy.

- I think in principles first and strive to fully understand what I'm doing. When I do this, I can communicate complex design concepts to anyone. I have become a valuable resource of information in little time at all three of my jobs.

- I keep detailed files & records of previous work. Helps greatly with efficiency and avoiding repeat mistakes. I once designed nine dampers in a row with similar specifications. First one took eight hours, the last one took two.

- Well focused towards the task at hand. Have no problem sacrificing time & energy to do what is necessary. Even tasks outside my job description and expertise. I worked two months of 50+ hour weeks at Effox. Spent countless hours overtime at CG Thermal to help it grow from a start-up to a firmly established company in two years.

EDUCATION

Wayne State University, Detroit MI. Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology
