Career Highlights

Commonwealth Games, Expo

Designed the winning logo to represent Ottawa's bid to host the Commonwealth Games. This was an open competition that received over 170 entries from design companies across Eastern Canada. I was awarded the opportunity to design and produce the presentation bid book which was a full colour, 140 page, hard cover document showcasing the city of Ottawa, and its proposed cultural and athletic venues. Several years later, I was again honored to create and design Ottawa’s bid book to host ‘Expo 2005’.

Velo Sportable Cycle

Conceptualized, developed, wrote, designed, and produced all of Sportable's advertising (print, outdoor & radio) for five years. This included developing their annual marketing plan, as well as purchasing local media. Due largely to these advertising campaigns, Sportable expanded from 1 location to 3 and increased their gross sales by over 650% during a shrinking market.

Give-A-Kid-A-Bike

I created an annual charity ‘Give-A-Kid-A-Bike’. Sportable, a local cycling store, in partnership with the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club, donated refurbished bicycles along with a new helmet to over 100 underprivileged children each year. Responsibilities included planning, advertising, graphics, public relations and coordinating the event for three years.

Bike Atlanta’96

I volunteered for Habitat for Humanity’s Bike Atlanta ‘96. Designed and produced the local advertising and promotion. Organized and participated in many local fund raising events. Finally, I participated in Bike Atlanta ‘96 by cycling from Ottawa to Atlanta, Georgia (2,650 km in 18 days). All together, Bike Atlanta ‘96 raised over $250K.
