Resume:

Introduction: I am a Professional Surveyor and Mapper licensed to practice in the State

of Florida. I have 32 years of surveying experience supporting many different disciplines.

I have a fully equipped work truck with a robotic theodolite and GPS receivers, and a

home office with the computers and software necessary to process the field data into a

finished, certified deliverable survey. I have worked at every position from rodman to

Vice President / Director of Land Surveying Operations, and I am prepared to assume

any of those roles, or accept contract work, for the mutual benefit of myself and my next

employer.

Work Experience

Mar. 2007- Mar. 2009, Vice President and Director of Land Surveying operations for Arc Surveying & Mapping, Jacksonville, Florida. Prepared project assessments and cost proposals, negotiated contracts, prepared reports, directed field crews and cad technicians, performed field surveying when necessary.

Jan. 2006 – Feb. 2007, Owner and President of Sherrill Surveying and Mapping providing professional surveying services throughout Central Florida, including Land Boundaries, Topographic Surveys, Mapping for Environmental Projects and 3D computer modeling of terrain, structures and fixtures.

1999– 2005, Employed with Kugelmann Land Surveying, Merritt Island, Florida as the

Senior Surveyor, duties included records research, estimating, scheduling and

coordinating activities, directing field crews and processing data in support of daily

surveying activities.

1982 -1998, Employed as a surveyor at Kennedy Space Center, Florida by PRC and

EG&G, provided Survey support for Civil and Mechanical Engineering tasks and

Construction Projects with emphasis on generating 3D computer models.

1977 – 1982, Employed as a surveyor with GHQ, a Surveying and Civil Engineering firm

in Merritt Island, Florida, duties were to direct and assist field crews in data collection

and construction stake out activities.

Additional Experience

During 15 years as a surveyor at the Kennedy Space Center I contributed significantly in

developing methods and procedures for acquiring survey data on a host of unusual

objects including crane rails, launch towers and their appendages, structural steel, space

vehicles and transporters, platforms, doors and other mechanical devices. These

procedures are unfamiliar to surveyors engaged in traditional practice and represent a

unique set of skills.

I also have some experience in hydrographic surveying. All of the firms listed

above provide hydrographic surveying as a routine part of their services. I learned to use

the Raytheon Analog Fathometer as well as tag lines, the sounding pole and a lead line.

The Surveying tasks on the Kennedy Space Center included Hydrographic

Surveying as well. NASA maintained all of the channels within the Space Center

boundary and addressed quantity issues in inland lakes. During this time period I learned

digital fathometers, laptop computers and GPS as a part of hydrographic surveying.

I have been using GPS continuously since the mid 1980’s, most recently

Ashtech, Topcon and Trimble. I am most familiar with TDS and Trimble software.

I have been processing survey data on computers since the mid 1980’s.

I began logging into a NASA VAX account, a long time before personal computers

were generally available. I am experienced in the use of Microstation and some of the

Inroads software but I cannot use Autocad. The Version 8 Microstation imports

and exports Autocad files flawlessly and I have not encountered a problem in the

4 years or so that I’ve been using this software version.

I have worked several projects out of Country (Panama, Spain, Bahamas,

Ascension Island) and I have a current Passport. I possessed a ‘Secret’ security clearance

from Dept. of Defense for a number of years while employed on KSC.

I have been trained to delineate wetlands and issue a report but I feel I would

need to research that field further to competently function in that capacity.
