Construction Project Management position with an innovative commercial construction company, seeking a respected experienced professional with strong technical, management, financial and people skills.

Qualifications

Senior Construction Professional (BS Quantity Surveying with construction major) with a 24 year track record of success in commercial and residential construction markets. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, techniques & contracts both domestically and internationally. A decisive, goal orientated leader who inspires commitment and produces results.

• Project Management: preparation of submittal schedules to negotiating final account and Extension of Time claims. Capable of running a staff of PMs, APMs and PEs to complete entire project or being more hands on and running the front end.

• Construction Management: including scheduling, planning, logistics and safety, supervising a direct and sub contract work force, with hands on experience of concrete & formwork, framing, waterproofing and finishes.

• Strong business and financial skills gained from running autonomous business units and small scale construction companies with full P & L responsibilities, including budgeting, sales & business development.

• Focused on delivering the project ahead of schedule and will use all available resources to identify and solve conflicts ahead of time. i.e. light table overlay, use of 3rd party CAD technicians to perform layout review and produce dimensioned control line drawings

Aqualea Resort & Residences, Clearwater FL - $105 million hotel, 17 storey, ~1 million sq ft, achieved a top out date 7 weeks ahead of schedule with handover 4 weeks early and on budget.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

McDonalds Restaurants, McCafe Program

Managing (average $150K) restaurant alteration and kitchen install. Complete 3 projects per week. Overseeing contractual process from pre-construction to final account & handover, with on site operations complete in 5 nights, requiring termination of store operation on only 2 nights. Reduced closeout period from 17 days to 6 days and period of credit from 45 days to 21 days.

PROJECT MANAGER

Aqualea Resort & Residences, Clearwater, Florida

Responsible for the building envelope and external works ($40 million) – including concrete, formwork, rebar, PT cable, waterproofing, masonry, windows & doors, stucco, painting, roofing, pool and amenity decks, underground vaults, earthworks, landscaping and irrigation achieving a $350,000 buy-out. Achieved top-out 7 weeks ahead of schedule. Implemented and designed a new leading edge protection system, anchored on the slab edge allowing block work, windows & doors & balcony railing to be installed without tie off, nominated for company safety award.

Signature Place, St Petersburg, Florida

Negotiated individual supply purchase orders for rebar, concrete and PT, labor only contract for rebar, PT install and slab finishing and sub contract for formwork and vertical placement achieving buyout saving of $1.2 million. Attained our ’topping-out’ milestone dates on all 4 structures (36 floor tower, 4 & 8 floor liner buildings and a 6 storey parking garage). Developed a new electronic process for approved shop drawings, allowing 2nd & 3rd tier subs/suppliers 5 additional working days for fabrication/delivery.

Lennar Corporation, Sarasota, Florida 2005 –2006

SENIOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Managed 3 separate sub-divisions including a new development of 80 duplex units, managing corporate trial of new product, E-WALL (poured in place concrete wall panels), refined process after 4 units, resulting in a 6 day reduction on conventional CMU build.

GENERAL MANAGER

Produced an effective business plan and negotiated start up finance with banks and venture capitalists.
