Student Assistant Jacksonville, AL
Jacksonville State University August 2010-December 2011
Responsible for assisting the Dean of the Management and Marketing Department in research and data entry assignments. Additional responsibilities included assisting 20 professors in research assignments and projects including power point presentations for classroom lectures and data entry into Microsoft excel for statistical data in classroom lectures.
Results: By providing assistance to professors, the Professors were able to effectively conduct classroom lectures and provide further guidance and research in their duties. Additionally, by performing research and assignments for 20 professors, I enhanced my time management skills and Microsoft office skills
Team Leader Fort McClellan, AL
Alabama National Guard July 2008-April 2010
Responsible for leading a team of 4-7 soldiers in Infantry Duties. I conducted specialized training in fire team movements, gun team operations, navigation, radio operation, marksmanship, physical fitness, correspondence class preparation and career development for my team and my platoon. Additional responsibilities included assuming the duties of my squad leader in the event he was unable to perform.
Results: After extensive instruction and training, two of my soldiers were promoted and assumed the roles of team leaders in other units. Also, two soldiers from my team qualified and completed sniper school, and now hold leadership roles within other units in the National Guard.
Team Leader Fort Bragg, NC
82nd Airborne Division January 2008-July 2008
Responsible for four soldiers’ safety and equipment in the final months of deployment. Additional responsibilities included supervising the patrols of my team in villages and communicating with village elders in order to gather Intel for the future success of the U.S Military in Afghanistan. Additional responsibilities included maintaining the health and safety of my team members.
Results: After Returning to America in May 2008, all team members sustained zero injuries and accountability of all weapon systems and equipment. Personally conducted training with team members and other professionals to ensure of proper adjustments from a soldier in combat to a civilian and family member in America.
Radio Telephone Operator Afghanistan
82nd Airborne Division August 2007-January 2008
Responsible for maintaining communication with support elements while in combat. Maintained six operational radios to support the only means of communications for 50 soldiers in a combat environment.
Results: Was the Platoon’s primary link with headquarters and support elements in combat situations. While in a battle in Afghanistan, Platoon was outnumbered, I effectively maintained communications and coordinated with incoming support elements such as Air support and additional ground support in order to successfully defeat the enemy and sustain zero casualties.
Machine Gunner Fort Bragg, NC-Afghanistan
82nd Airborne Division April 2005-August 2007
Responsible for qualifying to standard with squad automatic weapon biannually and ensuring weapon system mission capable by performing pre-maintenance checks and services. Additional responsibilities included assistant team leader, which included assuming the duties of the team leader in the event of that the team leader is unable to perform.
Results: Afghanistan, when squad was pinned down in confrontation with insurgents, was able to use machine gun power in order to force insurgents to retreat. All team members sustained zero injuries and zero casualties.
Recruiter Assistant Jacksonville, AL
Alabama National Guard November 2003-April 2005
Responsible for providing insight to recruits on the enlistment process. Set expectation on Basic Training and provided insight to the challenges and benefits of being in the Army National Guard. Additional responsibilities included lead trainer of newly enlisted recruits in performing drill and ceremony in order to prepare them for basic training.
Results: While I was in High School, I recruited and trained approximately 30 enlistees to the Alabama National Guard. Over 90% of enlistees successfully complete training.
