Managed multiple Medical Records Departments in various stages of disorder
First department was about 5 years behind in filing and chart maintenance
Second department was about 15 years behind in everything, had to almost start over
Had to set up new filing system
Put charts in folders and applied labels with name, date of admission, date of discharge and medical record number
Alphabetized all of the charts and placed in file cabinets or banker’s boxes
Caught up on file destruction, set up database and filing system per corporate policy
Set up databases for following Telephone Orders and Physician Order Sheets that were mailed to physicians and when they returned.
Send out reminder letters for forms not returned
Presently setting up database to follow forms from Therapy for completeness
Setting up system for tracking charts and access control
